南吐司 – 财宝天王
Vaishravana is one of the Four Heavenly Kings, and the subject of Lord Indra. In Tibetian, Vaishravana is known as Namtose (“Multi-Hearing”) – symbolizing manifestation of immense merits, governing the Yakshas and residing in the northern direction of Sumeru. Vaishravana, Bishamonten in Sanskrit, is also known as the “Worldly Protector “.
When the Lord Buddha was nearing Nirvana, He instructed the Four Heavenly Kings to protect the precious Dharma at the times of Dharma degradation by the Defiled One. Vaishravana led his retinue in offering their prayers to the Lord Buddha and vowed to protect all Dharma disciples; committed to Dharma flourishment and conferring wealth merits to support sentient beings in Dharma practices.
Namtose, in the form as Vaishravana Heavenly King, is a dharmapāla manifestation of the Ratnasambhava, one of Five Directional Buddhas. Namtose is circumvented by wealth deities of the eight directions, supporting the liberation of sentient beings through wish fulfillments.
The statues of Yidam Namtose have been blessed by many great masters in Pujas, including prayers by the Togden during Chang Chud 2015. The Yidam Namtose statues are available for offering at S$100/- each. All proceeds will be donated to fund H.E Choegyal Rinpoche’s retreat centre project in Tibet. We look forward to all Dharma Brothers’ support in the offering of the Yidam Namtose statues.
